ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) tallied four goals, but it was not enough as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-12 decision to St. Mary's in overtime on Saturday afternoon at Day Field.

The Seahawks (4-0) scored the first four goals of the match in the initial 14 minutes of the contest. The Yellow Jackets (2-1) tallied the next three goals, as Snee, junior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) and freshman Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) all scored to make it a one-goal contest. Each team added two more goals, with Whitman recording both for R-MC as the Yellow Jackets trailed 6-5 at intermission.

Snee scored 24 seconds into the second half to level the game at 6-6. SMC got the next two goals to take an 8-6 advantage. Hsieh's goal pulled R-MC within one. After a Seahawk goal, junior Shannon Jamieson (Cypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods) scored to make it 9-8. SMC added two goals to take an 11-8 advantage. Snee, sophomore Jessie Cornbrooks (Virginia Beach, Va./Bishop Sullivan) and junior Alyssa Chavez (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) all tallied goals to knot the score at 11 with 11 minutes left. The Seahawks reclaimed the lead with 7:48 remaining, but Snee's fourth goal tied it at 12-12 with 7:21 remaining. That was the final scoring in regulation. SMC notched the game-winner with 45 seconds remaining in the overtime period to secure the victory.

The Yellow Jackets held a 17-12 advantage in draw controls. Whitman and sophomore Laney Dee (Norfolk, Va./Bishop Sullivan) led R-MC with four each.

Sophomore Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) recorded nine saves for the Yellow Jackets, including seven in the second half.

Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. against Mary Washington.
