Box Score HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. - Junior Nick Maiolo (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) had a double and a two-run homer as the No. 10 Randolph-Macon baseball team dropped a 12-6 ODAC decision at Hampden-Sydney Tuesday afternoon.
Maiolo had a double in the first and belted a two-run homer in the ninth for the Yellow Jackets (16-4, 8-4).
Sophomore Jordan Schmeer (Richmond, Va./Benedictine) drew a leadoff walk in the first, moved to third on a double by Maiolo and scored on a single by freshman Cole Migliorini (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) to give R-MC an early 1-0 lead.
The Tigers (9-15-1, 6-6) answered with a run in the bottom of the first and tacked on five in the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the sixth to take an 11-1 lead. Migliorini had a run-scoring groundout in the eighth, while sophomores Stuart Brown (Midlothian, Va./Trinity) and Jay Patti (Sparks, Md./Hereford) both added RBI singles later in the frame.
Senior Nate Meiners (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's Prep) went 1 for 4 with a walk and two runs for the Yellow Jackets.
