Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Betsy Hebert (Lutherville, Md./Roland Park Country) recorded four goals and added an assist as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team outscored Guilford 17-7 Saturday afternoon to kick off the ODAC schedule.
Freshman Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) added three goals and two assists for the Yellow Jackets (3-2, 1-0 ODAC).
R-MC tallied four goals in the first four minutes, including the final two by Hebert. After a pair of goals by the Quakers (2-3, 0-1 ODAC), the Yellow Jackets scored four more to take an 8-2 lead with nine minutes remaining in the half. Junior Shannon Jamieson (Cypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods) had two goals in the four-goal spurt. GC scored three of the final five goals of the half as R-MC took a 10-5 lead at intermission.
The Yellow Jackets registered six of the first seven goals of the second half to take a dominating 16-6 lead before finally posting the 17-7 victory.
The teams were even with 26 shots apiece. R-MC held a 17-9 advantage on draw controls.
Sophomore Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) recorded nine saves in the first half, while sophomore Jamie Langbein (Brookville, Md./Sherwood) had a pair of saves in the second half for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon returns home to host Farmingdale State on Tuesday, March 17 at 4 p.m.
