Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Freshman Jenna Burns (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) registered two goals and an assist as the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team blanked Eastern Mennonite 7-0 Tuesday afternoon in ODAC action.
The Yellow Jackets (5-6, 2-4 ODAC) held a 39-1 advantage in shots, including 22-0 in shots on goal.
Freshman Maddie Burns (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) tallied the game's first goal in the 11th minute as R-MC took the early lead. Jenna Burns fed senior Sam Tyler (Colonial Heights, Va./Colonial Heights) for a header off a corner in the 14th minute to give R-MC a 2-0 advantage. Jenna Burns netted her first goal in the 25th minute and senior Bridget Panas (Goochland, Va./Goochland) scored in the 31st minute as the Yellow Jackets took a 4-0 lead at intermission.
Tyler assisted on a goal by freshman Lexi Mallory (Charlottesville, Va./Miller School) in the 47th minute and Jenna Burns scored again three minutes later on an assist by senior Meghan O'Neal (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) to raise the margin to 6-0. An own goal in the 54th minute completed the scoring.
Tyler led R-MC with six shots, including four on goal. Senior Lindsey Hall (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) and freshman Cori Spartana (Baltimore, Md./St. Timothy's) both had four shots against the Royals (1-11, 0-5 ODAC).
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 17, for a 4 p.m. ODAC Homecoming contest against Guilford. It will Senior Day for the Yellow Jackets and a Play for Peace fund-raiser match.
