Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. – Junior Sharese Jarvis (Cobbs Creek, Va./Mathews) went 4 for 7 with a homer, three runs and four RBI as the Randolph-Macon softball team split an ODAC doubleheader at Eastern Mennonite.
The Yellow Jackets (18-10, 10-8) won the opener 11-1 before falling in the nightcap 6-5.
R-MC scored two in the second, one in the third, six in the fourth and two in the fifth in Game 1. The Yellow Jackets belted three home runs, including sophomore Sam Moore (Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry) (2 for 4, 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI), sophomore Jenna Best (Chesapeake, Va./Great Bridge) (1 for 1, 2 R, 3 RBI) and freshman Katie Lockett (Chesterfield, Va./Matoaca) (2 for 3, 2 RBI).
Jarvis went 1 for 3 with a run and two RBI in Game 1.
Freshman Kelsey McLaughlin (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) earned the win to improve to 10-5. He allowed six hits, one walk and one run.
Jarvis went deep in the nightcap, going 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBI. The Yellow Jackets put up two in the second and three in the third in building a 5-0 lead. EMU scored three in the sixth and three more in the seventh to pull out the victory.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Wednesday, April 16 with a 3 p.m. home doubleheader against Southern Virginia.
