BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's tennis team swept doubles and posted three singles wins to record a 6-0 victory at Southern Virginia Saturday morning.
Sophomore Angelina Sportelli (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) and freshman Toni McDonald (Richmond, Va./Varina) won 8-2 at No. 1 Doubles. Both earned singles victories as well, Sportelli at No. 1 (6-0, 6-2) and McDonald at No. 3 (6-1, 6-2).
Freshman Kelsie Grice (Hoover, Ala./Charlotte Country Day) teamed with senior Olayemisi Ogunshina (Baltimore, Md./Wilde Lake) to register an 8-1 win at No. 2 Doubles. Grice also was victorious at No. 2 Singles (6-0, 6-0).
Senior Caty-Betz Holcomb (Lynchburg, Va./EC Glass) and freshman Melissa Tomlin (Prince George, Va./Prince George) took No. 3 Doubles 8-3.
The Yellow Jackets (2-1) will play at Washington & Lee Saturday afternoon.
