HARRISONBURG, VA – Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis picked up three wins in singles play but Bridgewater won two of three doubles matches to hold off the Yellow Jackets 5-4. R-MC (7-11 / 4-4 ODAC) returns to action Wednesday, April 10th when they host Sweet Briar for a 4:00 match.
Caty-Betz Holcomb and Courtney Owens teamed up to defeat Bridgewater's Jessie Mitchell and Olivia Stone 8-5 in doubles action.
The Yellow Jackets trailed 2-1 heading into singles play, needing four wins to take the match.
Olayemisi Ogunshina won in a matchup of the No. 3 singles players over Mitchell 6-4, 6-2.
Holcomb took the No. 4 singles match against Stone 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) and Jane Oh won in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
R-MC fought to a third set in the No. 5 singles match but the Eagles' Miranda Donovan held on for the win 6-1, 5-7, 6-2.
