ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis picked up a
key 7-2 victory over Randolph College Saturday afternoon. The
Yellow Jackets improve to 4-3 in ODAC play and travel to
Bridgewater College Sunday, April 7th for a 1:00
match.
R-MC started strong by picking up all three points in doubles
play. Angelina
Sportelli and Olayemisi
Ogunshina teamed to take the top doubles matchup 8-4.
Caty-Betz
Holcomb and Courtney
Owens along with the doubles pair of Morgan Parks
and Mackenzie
Nunnally both scored 8-4 victories in the No. 2 and No. 3
doubles matchups.
The Yellow Jackets sealed the team victory by winning four of
the six singles competitions. Sportelli improved her season singles
record to 10-6 with a three set victory in No. 1 singles play.
Ogunshina won in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 over Randolph's No. 3
singles competitor.
Holcomb battled for a victory in three sets 7-5, 2-6, 10-7 and
Parks rounded out the R-MC victory with a 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 5
position.
