Box Score WINCHESTER, VA – The Randolph-Macon College Women's Lacrosse team fell to Shenandoah 17-5 in the ODAC Lacrosse Tournament Semifinals on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets end their season with an overall record of 12-6 and 6-4 in ODAC play.
Randolph-Macon opened up the first half of play with two consecutive goals by Shannon Jamieson and Jenelle Whitman to take an early 2-0 lead.
Shenandoah answered, scoring eight of the next nine goals to take a 7-3 lead at the intermission.
On a free-position shot, Emily Lynch tallied the first goal of the second half to cut the Hornet lead to 7-4.
SU followed with an 8-0 run capped by a Samantha Donaghy unassisted goal at the 11:02 mark to increase its lead to 15-4.
Betsy Hebert scored the fifth R-MC goal off an Audrey Hester pass to make the score 15-5, but that is as close as the Yellow Jackets would get as the Hornets scored the final two goals to secure the win and advance to the championship game.
Whitman led the offense with two goals and two draw controls, while Lynch, Hebert and Jamieson each added one goal in the loss. Nicole Woodworth suffered the loss in goal and finished with 13 saves.
