Box Score LYNCHBURG, VA – Randolph-Macon Baseball dropped a 6-2 decision to Bridgewater College Saturday afternoon in the winner's bracket matchup of the 2013 ODAC Baseball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets will play again Saturday night at 6:00 Hampden-Sydney.
The Eagles cracked the scoring column in the bottom of the third when Nick Fulk singled home Christian Armstrong.
Randolph-Macon responded in the fifth inning when Michael Trentham led off with a single. After a Travis Lodge sacrifice bunt moved Trentham to second, Michael Kroll delivered a single to bring him home and tie the game 1-1.
Bridgewater reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Bryan Sanderson plated a run with a sacrifice fly. BC broke the game open in the next inning, scoring four runs on four hits to take a 6-1 advantage into the seventh.
The Yellow Jackets pushed across a run in the eighth but could not rally late and the Eagles took the game 6-2.
Mark Heideman went 1-for-3 at the dish with a double for R-MC's only extra base hit. Jake Fletcher and Kroll added a single and an RBI each.
Jake Bram is stuck with the loss after allowing five runs on nine hits over five and a third innings. Tanner Phillips allowed one run on two hits in two and two thirds innings of relief.
Armstrong finished 3-for-3 for the Generals and scored three runs. Sanderson had a game high three RBI in a 1-for-4 day at the plate.
Joseph Lucas went the distance for BC, allowing just two earned runs on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
Randolph-Macon will now face H-SC in an elimination game Saturday, April 27th at 6:00 P.M.
