LYNCHBURG, VA – Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis wrapped up
the 2013 regular season with a convincing 8-1 victory over
Lynchburg Tuesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets are now 6-5 in ODAC
competition which doubles their 2012 conference win total.
Angelina
Sportelli and Morgan Parks
earned an 8-3 win in the top doubles competition.
Courtney
Owens and Caty-Betz
Holcomb teamed up to defeated Ari Peikin and Madison Dixon 8-2.
Reba
Sledd and Jane Oh won by
defeat to complete R-MC's sweep of doubles.
Sportelli picked up her 12th No. 1 singles victory of
the season after knocking off Melissa Drinkard 6-0, 6-1.
In No. 3 singles action, Holcomb defeated Dixon 8-3 and for her
fifth win in the last six singles matches.
Jane Oh scored an 8-2 victory as the No. 4 singles player while
Sledd won in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 5 position.
Parks won by default as the No. 6 singles player.
The Yellow Jackets now wait the announcement of the 2013 ODAC
Women's Tennis Tournament pairings. R-MC is currently tied for
fifth in the conference standings.
