Box Score 2 BRIDGEWATER, VA – Randolph-Macon Baseball (3-6 / 0-2 ODAC) dropped a pair of games at Bridgewater College (7-1 / 2-0 ODAC) Saturday 10-5 and 8-1. The Yellow Jackets will host Methodist University Tuesday, March 5th at 2:30.
Bridgewater struck first in game one with a two run rally in the first inning highlighted by a Brendan Mason RBI triple.
Randolph-Macon answered in the top of the third when Nate Meiners scored on a Michael Trentham groundout to pull within one.
The Eagles extended their advantage to 6-1 after posting two runs in the both the fourth and fifth innings.
R-MC rallied for a three run sixth inning to cut the deficit to 6-4. Jeb Weymouth led off with a single and then scored on a Tim Benjamin double to left center. Matt Fischgrund followed with a two run homerun over the wall in left.
BC tacked on another run in the sixth and three in the seventh before taking game one by a final of 10-5.
Michael Helbig is saddled with loss after allowing seven runs and striking out two over five and a third innings.
Austin Carpenter finished 2-for-3 at the plate while Trentham had a pair of hits including a double and driving in two runs.
Corey Armentrout allowed four runs on nine hits over seven innings to pick up the win for Bridgewater. Mason paced the Eagles at the plate going 2-for-3 with a homerun, a triple and three RBI.
Benjamin singled home Travis Lodge to put Randolph-Macon ahead in the first inning of game two.
BC answered with a Mason RBI double in the bottom of the first and a Ryan Smith solo homerun in the second to go on top 2-1.
The Eagles added a run in the fourth and sixth before pulling away from the Yellow Jackets for an 8-1 win.
Jake Bram takes the loss for R-MC after allowing two earned runs on eight hits over five innings. Trentham, Lodge and Weymouth all contributed with two hits each.
Robert Gallet gave up one run on eight hits in seven innings of work to pick up his second win of the season. Bryan Sanderson went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI to lead the Bridgewater attack.
