Box Score ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse (7-0 / 2-0 ODAC) tied a program record for best start as they picked their seventh straight win over Calvin College 18-5 Tuesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets' 7-0 start ties a mark set by the 2000 squad that finished 14-4 and undefeated in ODAC play.
R-MC notched the first seven goals of their contest with Calvin College with three of them coming in the first 2:28. Shannon Jamieson opened with a goal at the 28:21 mark before Jenelle Whitman scored on a pass from Betsy Hebert just 15 seconds later.
Hebert then assisted on an Emily Lynch goal before netting two scores of her own with the second coming with 23:21 to go in the first half.
Lissa Busscher got the Knights on the board with just under 19 minutes left in the half and a goal from Katie Pranger cut the Yellow Jackets' lead to 8-2.
Randolph-Macon responded by scoring the next four goals, two off the stick of Hebert, to take a 12-2 edge into the intermission.
The Yellow Jackets continued their offensive charge into the second half with four consecutive goals to extend their lead to 16-2 before winning by a final of 18-5.
Hebert tallied eight points on the day with five goals and three assists to lead Randolph-Macon. Lynch and Whitman added three goals and an assist each while Rachel Johnsen, Kim Wright and Jamieson had two tallies of their own.
Whitman and Johnsen helped the Yellow Jackets to an 18-7 edge in draw controls by winning six and five respectively.
Nicole Woodworth earns the win in goal after making four saves on six shots. Morgan Tignor totaled 30 minutes between the pipes and made one save.
Pranger had a team high three goals for the Knights while also adding an assist and causing three turnovers.
Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse returns to action Saturday, March 23rd when they host Randolph College at 1:00.
