ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis (4-4 / 3-3
ODAC) team claimed a 5-1 victory over Emory and Henry College
Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets picked up three wins in women's doubles
competition, led by the No. 1 team of Angelina
Sportelli and Courtney
Owens who scored an 8-5 victory.
Caty-Betz
Holcomb teamed up with Olayemisi
Ogunshina to record an 8-1 victory for the Yellow Jackets,
while Mackenzie
Nunnally and Morgan Parks
also won 8-1.
Randolph-Macon dominated singles play, picking up wins in two of
the three matches played. Sportelli defeated Wingate 6-2, 7-6 (9-2)
in the No. 1 singles contest. Ogunshina defeated Yeary 6-2, 6-2 at
the No. 3 spot.
Due to the weather, the match ended during No. 3 singles, giving
the Yellow Jackets the 5-1 win.
Randolph-Macon returns to the court March 22nd when they play
Delaware St. for a 4:00 match.
