Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport ran its school record winning streak to 14 games with a 21-8 victory over Randolph-Macon in women's lacrosse action on Tuesday afternoon.
R-MC (8-8) got a hat trick from Audrey Hester and two goals from both Kelly Egan and Emily Lynch. Maggie Benson led the defensive effort with two groundballs and two caused turnovers.
CNU (14-1) used an 11 goal first-half en route to the victory. The Captains jumped out of the gate quickly scored five times before Alicia McGrew got R-MC on the board seven minutes into the game.
Christopher Newport would score the final six goals of the half and the first four the second stanza to put the game away.
Randolph-Macon closes out its regular season on Saturday when it hosts Washington and Lee at 3:00 p.m. in Ashland.
