Box Score BRIDGEWATER, VA – Betsy Hebert scored with just over a minute to go in overtime to propel Randolph-Macon to a 12-11 ODAC Women's Lacrosse win at Bridgewater on Saturday afternoon.
With the score tied at 10-10, Hebert set up Kelly Egan for the go-ahead goal with 7:34 to go in the contest.
The game remained that way until the 1:25 mark when BC's Jenny Logan scored an unassisted goal with the Eagles playing a man-up due to an R-MC yellow card.
Randolph-Macon had a chance to win the game in regulation but Emily Lynch's shot as time expired was turned away by BC keeper Caitlin Boles.
After BC gained possession of the overtime draw control, the Eagles had three shots, including a pair of free-position attempts but were unable to convert.
Alicia McGrew regained possession for R-MC which had a pair of shots of its own until Hebert scored the eventual game-winner with 1:20 on the clock.
Randolph-Macon's Rachel Johnsen was able to snare the ensuing draw control and allow R-MC to run out the remaining time.
Hebert and Egan each had four goals on the day, while Johnsen finished with a hat trick. Hebert had two assists while Lynch had two assists to go along with four groundballs, two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Nicole Woodworth made 13 saves in net for R-MC .
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Tuesday when it host ODAC rival Virginia Wesleyan at 4:00 p.m.
