ASHLAND, VA -- Emily Lynch scored seven goals including the game-winning strike in overtime to lead Randolph-Macon to a 15-14 victory over Sweet Briar in ODAC action.

Trailing 13-10 with just 12:05 to play, an Alicia McGrew score from Lynch cut it to a two goal deficit and started the R-MC comeback

The game would stay that way until the 2:24 mark when Kelly Egan converted a free-position shot to pull R-MC within one at 13-12.

Lynch would tally the equalizer with 1:12 remaining  and had a chance to put the Jackets in front in the closing seconds but  her shot was turned away by SBC keeper Caroline Baker and the game went to overtime.

Lynch pushed R-MC in front 14-13 with a goal off an assist from Audrey Hester just 54 seconds into the first of two, three minute overtime periods.

Sweet Briar's Allison Hazzard scored with 53 seconds remaining in the first OT period to knot the game at 14-14.

Lynch struck 54 seconds into the second overtime period when she took a pass from Egan and beat Baker for the eventual game-winner.  The R-MC defense made the lead hold up, not allowing SBC a shot in the final three minutes.

Randolph-Macon outshot SBC 52-36,  with the Vixens being kept in the game by Baker who finished with 26 stops on the afternoon.

Lynch added three assists for a 10 point day, while Egan and McGrew each had a pair of goals in the R-MC win.  Nicole Woodworth made 15 saves in net and her backup Perri Holloman made a big stop in overtime when pressed into action for the final 53 seconds of the first overtime period.   Rachel Johnsen had a goal and an assist to go along with 13 draw controls on the day. 

Sarah Winstead  and Kimberly Orchowski each had four goals on the day for Sweet Briar, while Olivia Hunt had a hat trick for SBC.

Randolph-Macon is right back in action tomorrow when it travels to Roanoke for a 2:00 p.m. ODAC game.
