Box Score

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse team used a strong second-half to rally from an early deficit and top ODAC rival Randolph 12-10 on Tuesday afternoon.

After the game was delayed due to lighting in the area, Randolph jumped out a 4-0 advantage when Nushaa Kaz scored with 18:50 to go in the first-half of play.

Goals by Emily Lynch and Kelly Egan helped R-MC cut its deficit in half before Randolph's Ashley Edwards made it 5-2 with just under 11 minutes left on the clock.

R-MC's (4-2 / 1-0 ODAC) Betsy Hebert sparked a 4-1 run with a score at the 8:55 mark, while Audrey Hester scored on a free-position strike with just over five minutes left to knot the game at 6-6.

Back-to-back goals gave Randolph an 8-6 advantage before a Rachel Johnsen goal as time expired sent the teams to the intermission with  the Wildcats leading 8-7

Randolph opened the second stanza with a Taylor Klevenz tally to make it 9-7 with 27:33 to play in the game.

The Yellow Jackets rally started with a Hebert goal that was set up by Johnsen  to make it 9-8 with 26:16 to play. R-MC then goal from Egan and took the lead when Johnsen stuck at the 15:14 mark of the half.

A Danielle Haney free-position goal gave the WildCats the equalizer with 12:42 to play, but R-MC would come right back 50 seconds later when Egan set up Hebert for what proved to be the game-winning goal.

Egan scored with under five minutes to go to tack on insurance and seal the first ODAC win of the year for R-MC.
