Box Score ASHLAND, VA – Kelly Egan scored eight goals and added three assists for an 11 point day as Randolph-Macon College topped Hood 19-9 in women's lacrosse action on Saturday.
Egan scored her first goal of the day just 1:07 into the contest to give R-MC (2-1) the early lead.
After back-to-back goals by Hood, Carrie Jacobs tied the game with 21:11 to go before Emily Lynch reeled off three straight goals of her own to give R-MC a 5-2 advantage with 16:36 to go in the half.
After Egan made the score 6-2, Hood (2-5) got a goal from Kati Vu to make the score 6-3 with 13:31 on the clock.
Egan responded with a goal just 20 seconds later and sparked what proved to be a five goal run that was capped by Egan with 7:36 to play in the half to make it 11-3.
R-MC took an 11-4 lead into the intermission before surrendering a goal to start the second stanza.
Alicia McGrew got a goal for R-MC with 27:34 to play in the game and started what proved to by a 5-1 run for the Jackets with Egan pushing the lead to 16-6 on score at the 22:07 mark.
Lynch finished the game with six goals and an assist, while McGrew registered a hat trick.
R-MC got 12 saves from Nicole Woodworth, while outshooting Hood 47-26 on the day.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Sunday when it takes on Cedar Crest on the road at 1:00 p.m.
