Box Score ASHLAND, VA – Andrew Oakes notched the tying goal in the second half to send the match with Emory and Henry into overtime. With two scoreless overtime periods played, the match ended in a 1-1 tie and moves R-MC to 2-4-1 in ODAC play.
James Ballamy gave the Wasps the 1-0 lead going into the second half when his free kick met the back of the net with just six minutes left.
Oakes would answer with the tying goal with just three minutes left on the clock in the second half to send the match into overtime.
Oakes led the offensive charge with six total shots followed by Fernando Rochi and Andrew Schaefer who pitched in four and three, respectively.
The Yellow Jackets outshot the Wasps 20-12 and held a slight 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
R-MC returns to the field on Sunday, October 7th to face CNU at 3:00 p.m.
