Box Score EMORY, VA--- Randolph-Macon topped Emory & Henry, 1-0 Saturday afternoon. The men improved to 3-2-2, 2-0-2 in conference play, while the Wasps fell to 3-5, 1-3 in the ODAC.
The men remain unbeaten in conference play and have now rung off 12 straight victories over E&H, dating back to 1999.
Both teams battled throughout the first half despite being tied 0-0. Randolph-Macon held a 5-3 edge in shots, but Emory & Henry recorded a 2-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Midway through the second stanza, David Sullivan found John Baskerville for the eventual game-winner. The goal was Baskerville's first of the year and the assist was Sullivan's first of the season.
The Yellow Jackets outshot the Wasps, 12-9 on the afternoon. However, E&H led in shots on goal 5-4. R-MC also held a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
Sullivan led Randolph-Macon with four shots and an assist on the afternoon. Fernando Rochi chipped in three shots.
Matty Rocawich picked up his second straight victory and third of the season in goal for the Yellow Jackets. He finished the contest with five saves on the day, putting him in a tie for third in the conference with 60. Justin Spencer took the loss for the Wasps, recording four saves.
R-MC returns to action Wednesday, September 28th as they play host to the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan. Kick-off is set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
