Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Jordan Walton notched his 78th hit of the season in the sixth inning of game two Saturday in Ashland to break the ODAC single season hits record as Randolph-Macon swept York 13-2 and 3-1. The Yellow Jackets (23-18) will host Mary Washington Sunday, May 1st at 1:00 and prior to the game R-MC will honor their seven seniors.

Walton's record breaking hit came in the bottom of the sixth in game two when he roped a double down the left field line for his 78th hit of the season. The junior's double breaks the ODAC single season hits record previously set by former R-MC assistant and Lynchburg College graduate Lucas Jones.

Brian Jordan paced the Yellow Jackets in the doubleheader going one going 4-for-6 with a homerun, a triple and an RBI. Jake Fletcher finished game one with a triple, a double and two RBI while Greg Mitro had a double, a single and two RBI. Michael Helbig added to the game one run total with a three run double.

Jamie Hendrick went the distance on the mound in game one, allowing one earned run on six hits and striking out two. Helbig improved to 8-2 on the season after giving up just one earned run on two hits while striking out five. Dale Langford earned the game two save after allowing no earned runs and no hits in the final inning.

Jimmy King led the Spartans in game with a single and two RBI. Kyle Cook and Nic Long both singled in game two for York's only two hits.

Jordan led off the bottom of the first inning for Randolph-Macon with a first pitch homerun over the wall in right.

York pulled ahead 2-1 in the top of the third when Jimmy King brought home two runs with a single.

Jeb Weymouth opened up a Jackets' rally in the bottom of the third with a single before scoring on a Walton triple. A Mitro RBI single put Randolph-Macon back on top 3-2 before Fletcher plated two runs with a triple to stretch the lead to 5-2.

Cory Jackson drew a bases loaded walk in the fourth to extend the R-MC edge to 6-2. Helbig then stepped to the plate with two outs and the bases loaded and ripped a double off the wall in left center to clear the bases.

Weymouth sacrificed home a run in the fifth before a Mitro RBI double and a Jay Lichter run scoring single put the Yellow Jackets on top 12-2.

Peter Culver singled up the middle in the sixth to score Ryan Dickerson and push the advantage to 13-2 which would prove to be the final.

Randolph-Macon manufactured two runs in the first inning of game two on a Weymouth RBI groundout and a Walton sacrifice fly.

Walton doubled in the sixth and then later scored on a Lichter double to put the Yellow Jackets up 3-0.

York College loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the seventh and pushed across one run with a groundout. Langford then settled in and retired the next two batters to earn his fourth save of the season and secure the doubleheader sweep.

Randolph-Macon wraps up the 2011 regular season when they host Mary Washington Sunday, May 1 at 1:00. Prior to Sunday's contest, the Yellow Jackets will honor their seven seniors.
