Box Score LEXINGTON, VA – No. 15 Washington and Lee used 14 first half goals en route to an 18-8 victory over Randolph-Macon in ODAC Women's Lacrosse action on Saturday in Lexington.
Randolph-Macon is now 7-9 overall and 4-5 in the ODAC, while the league leading Generals are now 11-4 and 8-0 in the league.
W&L jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the game before Elyse Cooper and Emily Lynch scored to cut the General lead to 6-2 with just over 19 minutes to go in the half.
The Generals used an 8-1 run to close the half to take a 14-3 advantage into half time.
Erin Clare Cassidy and Lynch opened the second half scoring to make it 14-5, but W&L responded with three consecutive goals to make it 17-5 with 9:23 to play.
R-MC was led by Kelly Egan, who finished with four points off of one goal and three assists. Lynch and Cooper added three goals apiece, while Stephanie Serena forced a game-high four turnovers. Keeper senior Alex Flammia played all 60:00, stopping 10 shots.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on April 30th in the quarterfinals of the 2011 ODAC Tournament at an opponent to be determined.
