Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis picked up a 5-3 win over Emory and Henry on Saturday in Lexington to improve to 2-3 in the ODAC. Earlier in the day, Virginia Wesleyan got past the Yellow Jackets 5-0.
Olayenisi Ogunshina picked up a singles win and a doubles win to lead Randolph-Macon over Emory and Henry. The freshman defeated Kaylee Gallant 6-3, 6-2 and teamed with Sarah Rainey to score a 9-8 (7-3) doubles victory.
Adding to the Yellow Jackets' win totals were Reba Sledd, who defeated Anna Blydenburgh 6-0, 6-1, and Chelsea Jones also won in straight sets over Casey Blackburn 6-1, 6-0.
Virginia Wesleyan downed Randolph-Macon 5-0 earlier in the day Saturday. Martha Vlahakis battled Saida Bennou in the matchup of the top singles competitors. Vlahakis forced a tie-breaker set before Bennou escaped with a 6-4, 7-6 (11-9) win.
Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis returns to action Wednesday, March 9th when they host Virginia Union at 3:00.
