Box Score Randolph-Macon scored nine times in the first 13:17 on the way to a 20-9 win over Sweet Briar in an ODAC road contest Saturday.
Kelly Egan tallied a game high five goals along with two assists to pace the R-MC attack. Holly Sargeant and Elyse Cooper finished with four scores each while Erin Claire Cassidy totaled eight points with two goals and six assists.
DJ Abernathy led the Vixens' offense with three goals and two assists. Sam Schwartz chipped in with two goals for Sweet Briar.
Egan netted two R-MC goals in the first 1:34 of the contest before Stephanie Serena extended the lead to 3-0 with 23:59 to go in the first half.
Two scores from Sargeant and another Egan tally stretched the advantage to 6-0 before a pair of Cooper goals and a Jaren Hackman score put the Yellow Jackets up 9-0.
SBC's Abernathy notched the scoring column with 13:39 on the clock but R-MC rattled off the final four goals of the half to take a 13-1 edge into the intermission.
Rachel Johnsen pushed the lead to 14-1 with a goal to start the second half and Randolph-Macon went on to win by a final of 20-9.
The Yellow Jackets held a 29-14 advantage in shots including a 17-1 edge in the first half. Randolph-Macon won 23 of 31 draw controls.
R-MC Women's Lacrosse returns to action Wednesday, March 30th when they travel to the College of Notre Dame (Md.) for a 4:00 non-conference tilt.
