ASHLAND, VA-Randolph-Macon Women's Tennis swept all three
doubles matches on the way to a 6-3 win over Lynchburg College
Thursday in Ashland.
R-MC's Martha Vlahakis (Rockville, MD) defeated LC's Krysten
Bishop 6-2, 2-6, 10-5 in singles action on Thursday. Sarah
Rainey(Prince George, VA) (6-1, 6-0) and Reba Sledd (6-0, 6-4) also
picked up singles wins.
The Yellow Jackets made a clean sweep of the three doubles
matchups to secure their 6-3 win over Lynchburg. Vlahakis and
Courtney Owens (Culpeper, VA/ Eastern View) defeated the Hornets'
top pair Bishop and Clare Wallendjack 8-2. The doubles teams
of Kaitlyn Offield and Rainey and Chelsea Jones with Desiree
Anderson (Hampton, VA) both won 8-6.
Randolph-Macon Tennis will be back in action Thursday, March
4th, when they Sweet Briar for a 4:30 p.m. match.
