FOREST, Va. – Junior forward Janne Roelink (Den Helder, Netherlands/Norfolk Collegiate) has been named ODAC Offensive Player of the week for the first time in her career, notching the first weekly honor of her career.

Roelink led the Yellow Jacket offense to a 2-1 record this past week, which included consecutive 3-1 victories. The Lemon and Black recorded the wins against Division II Barton, as well as Hood. Despite a 1-2 loss to New Paltz in the second game in two days, the junior scored RMC's only goal which forced overtime for the first time this season.

Against Barton, the forward scored her team's first goal of the game, totaling two points with her one shot on goal. She followed the performance with a game-high two goals against Hood, marking her first career game with multiple scores. She went on to rack up four points with her three shots on goal against the Blazers. Coupled with her goal against New Paltz, Roelink laced five total shots with four shots on goal, pacing all players in the contest in both categories. Her four shots on goal marks a new career-high, while her five total shots against the Hawks marks a new season-high.

After compiling nine shots, eight shots on goal, eight points and four goals this past week, Roelink ranks second in the ODAC in points per game (two) and goals per game (one), while ranking tied-fifth in shots on goal (nine). Her 10 points, five goals and .750 shot on goal percentage are all already the most she has recorded in a single season across her three years.

Roelink and the Yellow Jackets return to action on Thursday, September 17, to take on St. Mary's College of Maryland. The programs will meet at 5:00 p.m. in St. Mary's City, Md.
