Janne Roelink (Den Helder Netherlands/Norfolk Collegiate) netted the equalizing goal late in the fourth, the Yellow Jackets dropped a tight game in their first overtime contest of the season.

How it Happened
- For the opening six minutes, neither team could establish offensive pressure until Valentina Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) was forced to make her first save of the game on a shot from her right. At the 6:20 mark, Randolph-Macon earned its first penalty corner of the contest and it was McKayla Clark (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester) recording a shot wide. The pressure remained with RMC, as Penelope Trageser (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) ripped two close-range shots on goal followed by an attempt wide from Kylee Gorham (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland). The score remained 0-0 after a period that saw RMC control the time of possession.
- 1:47 into the second frame of play, the Hawks sent a shot wide before earning their first penalty corner of the game. They followed with another two penalty corner opportunities that included two shots on goal, however, Ambrogi-Torres was able to make both stops. New Paltz's offensive pressure proved to be enough, as the Hawks took a 1-0 lead with 9:40 left in the quarter. Shortly after, Ambrogi-Torres made two saves in quick succession which led to a shot on goal from Gorham. Some persistent play from Peyton Sutton (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester) helper her team earn a penalty corner with 30 seconds remaining in the half and it was Natalie Moul (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield) putting a shot left of the target.
- New Paltz earned a penalty corner within the first three minutes of the third, which resulted in another pair of saves from Ambrogi-Torres. The Yellow Jackets flipped the field and earned one of their own, which allowed Gorham to rip a shot on goal from the top of the circle. Roelink followed with a shot on goal of her own but it was steered away by the Hawks' keeper. At the 6:10 mark remaining in the third, the home team worked for another three penalty corners and Roelink knocked a shot off the post. In the final two minutes, Ambrogi-Torres stepped out and made a sliding save, keeping the score 1-0 Hawks through three.
- Randolph-Macon applied sustained pressure for the opening five minutes of the fourth and both Moul and Roelink put shots on net. The Lemon and Black worked for another three penalty corners with under six minutes remaining, with both Moul and Roelink again letting shots fly on target. The Yellow Jackets finally broke through, as Roelink's efforts resulted in her fifth score of the season, knotting the game 1-1. RMC's 10th penalty corner of the game helped it force overtime for the first time this season.
- Brenna McLean (Rock Hall, Md./Queene Anne's County) worked for a shot opportunity in the first possession but barely sailed it wide. On the ensuing drive, New Paltz earned a penalty corner and converted 37 seconds into overtime, creating a final 2-1 score.
