Randolph-Macon Athletics Shines in Final LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Randolph-Macon finished 61st overall in the final 2025-26 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Division III standings, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) this week. The Yellow Jackets totaled 312.5 points to finish in the 81st percentile in all of division III.
 
RMC totalled 173.50 points during the spring season, led by a programs-best 12th place national championship finish for women's golf, who contributed 64.5 points. Baseball used a super regional trip to throw in 64 points. Men's Volleyball appeared in the sweet 16 for the first time in school history, adding the final 45 points to the schools overall point total. 

The Lemon and Black saw a flurry of points during the winter season to add more points to the school's overall score. Randolph-Macon scored 89 points overall, led by men's basketball with 64 points. Women's Basketball pitched in the remaining 25 points with its appearance in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

In the fall season, RMC was led by football that grabbed all 50 points in a trip to the second round of its NCAA tournament. 

The Yellow Jackets have finished among the top 75 of all NCAA Division III institutions for the fourth consecutive year, a streak that began in 2023.

RMC placed third in the conference with all institutions placing in the top-65 in the country. Washington and Lee sit at the top with a 12th place national finish (803.75 points). Lynchburg took the second spot with a 35th national finish (493.50 points).
  
Washington University in St. Louis ended with the top spot in the Directors' Cup standings with 1,266.50 points. Tufts placed second with 1,252.50 points, followed by Johns Hopkins in third (1,180.00), Emory in fourth (1,066.00), and Williams in fifth (1,063.75). 

Randolph-Macon had six different programs make NCAA tournament appearances this past academic year.  

The Yellow Jackets added three ODAC titles with an overall record of 230-126-7 (.633) on the year. This includes a 120-54-3 (.684) record in conference play for the Lemon and Black sports teams. RMC saw male sports lead the way posting an overall record of 122-57-4 (.667), while female sports posted an overall record of 108-69-3 (.608). Randolph-Macon was very impressive in defending home field with an overall record of 129-43-1 (.749) record across all competitions.   

The Learfield Directors' Cup recognizes broad-based excellence in collegiate athletics and awards points based on institutional finishes at NCAA Championships. In Division III, scores from 18 sports are counted in the final standings, including men's and women's soccer and men's and women's basketball, plus the next 14 highest-scoring sports regardless of gender.
