ASHLAND, Va. — Randolph-Macon College is pleased to announce the hiring of Victoria Yatko, MSAT, ATC, as the newest athletic trainer. 

Yatko joins Randolph-Macon with collegiate sports medicine experience spanning athletic healthcare, injury prevention and rehabilitation, emergency care, student-athlete education, and sports medicine operations.

Yatko most recently served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Berry College, where she provided primary medical coverage for cross country, men's basketball, and track and field. During her time at Berry, Yatko also served as a host athletic trainer for three Southern Athletic Association Men's Basketball Conference Championships, an NCAA Regional Cross Country meet, and multiple large track meets. She mentored more than 70 student workers and assisted with teaching first aid, athletic taping, and emergency care.

In addition to her work at Berry, Yatko has served as an outsourced/PRN athletic trainer with Atrium Health. Her responsibilities included coordinating EMS coverage for home athletic events, maintaining medical equipment, and coordinating summer camp schedules, contracts, billing, and medical coverage with administrators, coaches, and athletic trainers.

Yatko earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from James Madison University in 2023 and her Bachelor of Exercise Science with a minor in Biology from Shippensburg University in 2021. While completing her graduate training at James Madison, she gained clinical experience with JMU Cheer, men's tennis, men's basketball, and men's soccer, as well as Eastern Mennonite University and Broadway High School. 

Yatko is certified by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers, holds a Georgia Athletic Trainer license, and is an AHA CPR Instructor. She also holds an ISSA Corrective Exercise Specialist certification. She is also licensed by the commonwealth of VA and will have primary sport coverage at RMC of Men's Soccer, Women's Basketball, and Women's Lacrosse.
