FOREST, Va. –  After helping Randolph-Macon clinch the third seed in the ODAC Postseason Tournament, junior Peter Philips (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) has earned his first-career conference Pitcher of the Week award.

Philips helped RMC to a 10-2 win in its first of two games against Guilford. In his career-high eight innings of work, the junior allowed six hits and two runs, while walking just one batter. He faced 30 Quakers, striking out six, good for the second-highest total of his season.

This season, Philips has racked up a career-high 58 strikeouts, while registering personal bests in earned runs (23), walks allowed (18) and ERA (3.65). Furthermore, he has pitched six-or-more innings in each of his past three outings. In each of the three contests, he has allowed three or fewer runs, two or fewer walks and five-or-more strikeouts.

Philips and the Yellow Jackets close out their regular season at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 in Fayetteville, N.C. with a game against Methodist.
