How It Happened:
- As the first batter in the bottom of the first, Jack Bowles (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) ripped a single to right. He then stole second, before advancing to third on a single from Zach Wernoski (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill). Carter Schmitt (Glen Allen, Va./St. Christopher's) laced a single to left on a two-strike count, giving RMC a 1-0 lead. Logan Duff (Forest, Va./Liberty Christian) loaded the bases for his team with a single at the pitcher, allowing Wernoski to score on a wild pitch for the 2-0 advantage. Randolph-Macon extended the lead to 3-0, as Zach Stolze (Towson, Md./Loyola Blakefield) tallied a deep sacrifice fly for Schmitt to cross home.
- Justin Lanouette (Chantilly, Va./Freedom) drove a single up the middle with one out. Bowles followed with a walk and then they executed a double steal to get runners on second and third. Wernoski jumped on the chance, as the junior placed a single to left to create a 4-0 cushion.
- Stolze continued the scoring in the bottom of the third, as he singled and stole second. James Baffone (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) put runners on the corners with a single before Michael Lavanga (Alexandria, Va./Bishop O'Connol) provided a double down the left field line, driving Stolze in for a 5-0 advantage. Jon Quici (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) used a sacrifice fly to increase the count to 6-0, as it was Baffone who tagged up.
- The Quakers got on the board in the top of the sixth, as a single and a double put a runner into scoring position. They then used a sacrifice fly to push one runner home, before a following single put the score at 2-6.
- Lanouette got the bottom of the seventh going with a double down the right field line. Bowles dropped a single into shallow left and Wernoski capitalized, as he hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Lanouette for a 7-2 lead. Schmitt tallied yet another hit, as his double to deep right helped Lanouette score with ease, putting RMC's eighth run on the board. Duff stayed hot with a double of his own off the fence, driving Schmitt in for the 9-2 lead.
- Elias Brooks (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) started the bottom of the eighth with a single up the middle. Quici was struck by his team-high 14th pitch of the season, before he and Brooks advanced bases on a wild pitch. Thanks to the baserunning, a sacrifice fly from Lanouette pushed Brooks home to establish a 10-2 advantage.
