ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse closed out the regular season on Friday afternoon, hosting the Averett Cougars in a game where 22 different Yellow Jackets found the back of the net.

How it Happened
- In the first two minutes of the game, Grant Sobel (Mechanicsville, Va./Christchurch) opened up the scoring, giving the Yellow Jackets the lead. One minute later, JT Harvey (Ruther Glen, Va./Riverbend) sliced through the defense to put RMC up by two. At the 11:25 mark, Logan Sinsebox (Monkton, Md./Hereford) threaded a pass to Chap Hale (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry), pushing the score to 3-0. Three minutes later, Peyton Rodriguez (Santa Barbara, Calif./Bishop Diego Garcia) found his way on the score sheet with an unassisted goal. At the 4:46 mark, Senior LSM Brodie Kent (Coquitlam, Canada/Centennial) took a feed from Sobel and rifled the ball into the back of the net for a pole goal and giving the Lemon and Black a 5-0 lead over the Cougars. One minute later, Emmett Wood got Averrett on the board after picking up a ground ball right in front of the net, cutting the deficit to four. At the 1:09 mark, JJ Phillips (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) gave RMC a five-goal lead once again. The Yellow Jackets rattled off three goals over the next minute from Ian Swartzendruber (Fallston, Md./Fallston), Rodriguez and Sobel to close out the first quarter with a 9-1 lead.
- The Lemon and Black found the back of the net two minutes into the second quarter when Hunter Drake (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) dished the ball to Sinsebox for the 10th RMC goal of the afternoon. The Cougars shut down the Yellow Jackets' run three minutes later on an unassisted goal from Connor Boyd. At the 9:40 mark, Tyler Dyson (Culpeper, Va./Liberty) added his name to the stat sheet on a feed from Charlie Hilgartner (Severna Park, Md./Severn). Three minutes later, Wood struck once again for the third AU goal of the game. At 5:16 on the clock, Swartzendruber added a second goal to his stat line, extending the lead to 12-3. George Bratton (Long Beach, Calif./St. John Bosco) started a five-goal run over the rest of the quarter. Will Robertson (Lutherville, Md/Calvert Hall), Hale, Hilgartner and Matthew Sutty (Hockessin, Del./Salesianum) each found the back of the net during the run, giving the Lemon and Black a 14-goal lead heading into the break.
- Coming out of the break, the Yellow Jackets found the back of the net on a shot from Fitz Stanley (Richmond, Va./Collegiate), pushing the score to 18-3. RMC did not record another goal until 3:15 on the clock when Nathan Sutty (Hockessin, Del./Salesianum) joined his brother in the goal column. The Lemon and Black added four more goals over the next three minutes on shots from Matt Carter (Glen Allen, Va./ Deep Run), Peyton Lloyd (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee), Matthew Sutty and Jackson Grant (Lynchburg, Va./EC Glass), pushing the score to 23-3.
- Jackson Hedrick (Reisterstown, Md./St. Paul's) got the scoring started in the final frame just one minute and 30 seconds in. At the 12:17 mark, Matthew Sutty completed the hat trick, making the score 25-3. 40 seconds later, Walker Wilkinson (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) kept the offense rolling and was followed up by Rock Schraa (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) to give the Yellow Jackets a 24-goal lead. Nick Kline (Chester, Md./Kent Island) added the Lemon and Black's second pole goal of the game with 3:13 left in the game. Zachary Hulbert added one more goal for the Cougars with under one minute left to play. Eight seconds before the final horn sounded, Carter added one more goal for RMC to close out the final game of the regular season with a 29-4 win.

- Matthew Sutty and Sinsebox each recorded a team-high four points. Sutty tallied three goals and one assist, while Sinsebox recorded three assists and one goal.
- Hale and Sobel each recorded three points on two goals and one assist.
- Rodriguez, Carter and Swartzendruber each recorded two goals for two points in the game.
- The Yellow Jackets outshot the Cougars 75-16 overall and 50 to eight in shots on goal.
- Mike Allen (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) scooped up a team-high eight ground balls and caused two turnovers.
