Men's Lax Moves to #23 in NPI Rankings

ASHLAND, Va. – The Yellow Jackets head into week 10 ranked No. 23 in the third set of NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings, the metric used by the Division III men's lacrosse committee for at-large selections as well as for seeding for the NCAA Tournament. Click here to view NPI

The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (USILA) Coaches Poll has been released for week 10 and Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse has been tabbed as receiving votes.

Men's lax had a two-game week that started on Wednesday with a 29-1 win over Randolph on Day Field. They closed out the week with an away matchup where they fell short in a road matchup against #3 Lynchburg, 10-14.  

The Lemon and Black have outscored opponents 193-107. Faceoffs have been a strength for the Yellow Jackets as they have won 203 and lost 136 for a .599 percent win rate from the faceoff x. Defensively, the Yellow Jackets rank second in the conference and 20th in DIII for caused turnovers per game (12.15). Man-down defense continues to shine for RMC, as they have been man-down 36 times and have allowed only 4 goals, ranking first in the ODAC and fifth nationally in Division III. In transition, the Yellow Jackets continue to excel, as so far this season they have gone 258-292 for a clear percentage of.884, ranking 20th in the nation.

Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse is 10-3 overall on the season and 4-2 in conference play. Their next game is Wednesday, April 15, when they take on Virginia Wesleyan for a 6:30 p.m. matchup.
