ASHLAND, Va. – The Yellow Jackets continue to garner votes in the latest ABCA Coaches Poll, earning five total votes from coaches across the country.
This past week, RMC turned in a 2-2 record, which included back-to-back wins against #12 Salisbury over the weekend. While the Yellow Jackets dropped contests to Virginia Wesleyan and North Carolina Wesleyan, they rebounded with an 8-5 win at home against SU and a 5-2 win on the road against the Sea Gulls the following day.
In the first game, Randolph-Macon saw its team play error-free baseball, as dominant pitching was backed up by efficient fielding. In the following game, RMC routed Salisbury 15-to-four in hits, giving the Lemon and Black a five-to-one RBI advantage. Furthermore, the Yellow Jackets' .963-to-.391 OPS advantage gave the team its first win in Salisbury since 1994.
This week, RMC has a game on the road against Hampden-Sydney on Tuesday, April 14 at 4:00 p.m., before the Yellow Jackets host the Tigers the following day at 3:30 p.m. in Ashland, Va.
