SALISBURY, Md. – The 24th – ranked Randolph-Macon softball team dropped game one, used a strong hitting game two to earn the split on the day, defeating NYU and falling to Stockton.

Game 2 (New York):
- In the first inning, Mya Davis (Chesapeake, Va./Grassfield) hit a solo homer to get the scoring started for the Yellow Jackets. Reagan Hill (Hanover, Va./Hanover) drew a walk and scored on a Charlotte Boswell (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) double to also double the Randolph-Macon lead to 2-0. Jacy Ramos (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) kept the bats hot with a single to bring Boswell home and Katerina Brabson (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern) knocked in Ramos to finish the four run inning, as RMC leads 4-0.
- The Lemon and Black got a single by Alyssa Meharg (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) to start the second inning. Tori Powell (Freeman, Va./Mecklenberg County) walked and Davis was hit by a pitch to load up the bases with no outs. Hill doubled home Meharg and Powell to add two runs to the Randolph-Macon total. Ashley Bush (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) walked to load up the bases again for the Yellow Jackets. Boswell grounded out but allowed Davis to score from third base and Brabson singled home Hill and Bush to up the lead to 9-0 for RMC.
- In the third inning, the Violets scored their first run of the game on a Siena Kiefer single to score Emily Barbire. Randolph-Macon still held the strong 9-1 lead, heading into the bottom of the third.
- Boswell singled to begin the fourth inning, stole second and set up a Brabson RBI with a sacrifice flyout. Meharg tripled at the end of the inning to score Avery Shifflett (Ruckersville, Va./William Monroe) that singled just before. Randolph-Macon ran its lead to 11-1 with three outs to get to end the game.
- New York got one on in the top of the fifth inning, but the Yellow Jackets shut them down to take the victory 11-1.
By the Numbers
- Kailey Jackson (Virginia Beach, Va./Colonial) got the win for the Yellow Jackets, throwing three innings and allowed one run on two hits. Brabson finished the final two innings and gave up one hit.
- Brabson led the Lemon and Black with four RBIs on two hits in the game.
- Boswell and Hill both ended the day with two RBIs.
- Davis, Meharg and Ramos all recorded an RBI in the game.
