ASHLAND, Va. – Junior goalkeeper Valentina Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) has been named ODAC Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career.
 
Ambrogi-Torres opened the season on Saturday afternoon against McDaniel, posting five saves in her fifth-career shutout. Extending back to the 2024 season, she has registered five-or-more saves in eight of her last nine games, marking the best stretch of her career.

Ambrogi-Torres was named to the All-ODAC Second Team for the second consecutive season in 2024. She finished second in the ODAC in save percentage (.829), total saves (126) and saves per game (7.88), which helped her land on the NFHCA Preseason National Watch List ahead of 2025, after also accomplishing the feat ahead of the 2024 season.
 
The Yellow Jackets beat McDaniel College to open the 2024 season and exemplified the same success to start their 2025 campaign. They'll be traveling to Washington D.C. on Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. contest against Catholic University.
