9/16/2025 1:15:00 PM

ASHLAND, Va.- After its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, Randolph-Macon men's basketball announces a 26-game slate for the 2025-26 season. Reigning back-to-back ODAC Coach of the Year, Josh Merkel, enters his 11th season leading the Yellow Jackets.

"This is a schedule where we need to be at our best each and every night," said Merkel. "We are excited to play multiple teams that were in the NCAA tournament last season. We are thrilled to host some great programs during our RMC Coaches Tournament. Before Christmas, the Music City Classic has some rich traditions, and we are grateful for the opportunity to play in this tournament. The competition we will see over the course of our season will challenge us to reach our full potential as a unit."

RMC begins the season in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, at the Gettysburg Tip-off Tournament hosted by Gettysburg College. They will play a neutral site game against Eastern on Nov. 7, followed by a game the ensuing day against Gettysburg or Wilson. RMC will then go on the road where they will play at Christopher Newport on Nov. 12.

The Yellow Jackets have their home opener to close out the month against Yeshiva during Homecoming on Nov. 15. RMC begins the month of December, squaring off with ODAC rival Hampden-Sydney on Dec. 3. Three days later, Roanoke comes to Crenshaw Gym on Dec. 6. RMC will head out to Nashville, Tennessee for the Music City Classic where they will play Centre on Dec. 19 and Augsburg on Dec. 20. After the holiday break, RMC will host its annual RMC Coaches Tournament on Dec. 29-30, as Eastern, Salisbury and Misericordia all come to Ashland.

ODAC play starts back up at the turn of the new year, as RMC plays host to Lynchburg on Jan. 3. The Yellow Jackets head on the road where they will tip off against Averett on Jan. 7 and Guilford on Jan. 10. They return to Ashland hosting Bridgewater on Jan. 14 and Shenandoah on Jan. 17. Three of the final four games in the month are on the road for RMC, traveling to Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph before coming home to face Eastern Mennonite, then back on the road against Washington & Lee to close the month.

RMC opens February with a road game against Hampden-Sydney on Feb. 4. They finish the first week at home against Mary Washington on Feb. 7 then back on the road against Shenandoah on Feb.11. The regular season concludes with home contests against Averett and Virginia Wesleyan, and lastly, a road matchup with Bridgewater on Feb. 21.

Randolph-Macon finished 14th in the final D3hoops poll of the 2024-25 season and will return all three all-conference players from a season ago.

Details on pricing and single-game tickets will be announced this October.
