SALEM, Va. --Â Randolph-Macon Men's Volleyball earned a four-set win at Roanoke on Friday night to grab a share of the ODAC regular season crown, moving to 10-0 in conference play. Â

How it Happened

- The Maroons took the first two points of the first set, but RMC rallied to go ahead 7-4. Roanoke had the score within three points before a 3-0 run by the Yellow Jackets helped bolster the lead and tilt the momentum in their favor. The closest the Maroons could get was four points as RMC held off any comeback attempt to take the first set, 25-19.
- Randolph-Macon opened the second frame by earning the first four points and led 5-2 early on. Two separate 5-0 runs by the Maroons helped them build a 13-8 lead over the Jackets, but RMC cut it back to one point at 15-14. The Maroons caught fire again with a stretch of four straight to propel them ahead by five points and they held off RMC to take set two by a score of 25-22.
- RMC dominated the early stages of the third set, opening up a 12-4 lead before a 3-0 run by Roanoke cut the deficit down to five. The Maroons continued to chip away at Randolph-Macon's lead, but RMC got to set point at 24-18. Roanoke put together a stretch of three straight, but it wasn't enough as RMC took set three, 25-21.
- The Yellow Jackets began the fourth set with a 6-3 lead but that was quickly erased as the Maroons tied it at six. RMC rebuilt a 12-8 lead before Roanoke scored three straight again to bring it within one. Roanoke took their first lead since 2-1 when they jumped ahead 14-13 in the middle stages. The two sides went back-and-forth before a late run helped propel RMC to the finish line for a 25-22 win in set four to win the match. Â

- Kody Rogan (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) continued his strong play, totaling 39 assists, 11 digs, nine kills, and a .316 hitting percentage.
- Brady Plucker (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) finished with 18 digs at the libero position. He has 39 digs in the last two matches.
- Phillip Van Essendelft (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) notched 11 kills and hit .471. He also had a solo block and two block assists.
- Bryce Matthews (Chesterfield, Va./Clover Hill) registered a team-high 13 kills and finished with 11 digs.
- Ian Wagenhauser (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) had 15 digs to couple with his 10 kills.
