- Both sides split the first 18 points of the opening set, as the score was tied 9-9 early on. A 3-0 run helped RMC build a small lead, but it was cut by two straight by the Hornets. Seven of the next eight points went in favor of the Yellow Jackets as they took a seven-point lead at 19-12. Five of the next eight points went in Lynchburg's direction, but RMC closed out the first set with an ace by Ian Wagenhauser (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run), winning the frame 25-18.
- Lynchburg opened the second set by taking three of the first five points, but RMC exploded for a 5-0 run that helped them take the lead and grow it to five points. The Hornets trimmed the deficit back to two at 11-9, but once again, RMC used a 4-0 run that extended to a 9-3 run to give them full control of the stanza. Two kills by Wagenhauser and a kill by Kody Rogan (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) helped the Jackets win set two, 25-16.
- Randolph-Macon led by just one point at 4-3 early in the third set, but took command of the frame with an 8-1 run to give them a 12-4 lead. Four of the next five points went in the Hornets' favor, but six of the ensuing eight points went to RMC, making the lead 19-10. The Jackets remained in command of the set, not allowing any sign of a comeback from the Hornets as RMC earned the sweep with a 25-17 win in set three.

- RMC hit .313 in the match, totaling 31 kills and 11 errors. Lynchburg hit .043 with 24 kills and 21 errors.
- The Yellow Jackets had 10 blocks to just five for LYN.
- Seven different players had at least two block assists.
- Wagenhauser led the way with 10 kills and hit .667. He also had two aces and three block assists.
- Bryce Matthews (Chesterfield, Va./Clover Hill) totaled five kills without an error. He also had a solo block and a team-high four digs.
- Rogan finished with 23 assists along with two aces, three block assists, and three digs.
