Doubles:
The Yellow Jackets dropped two out of three double matches to start the entire match with the Cougars.
Meckenzie Letellier (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) and
Emma Turner (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) defeated their opponents in second doubles by a score of 6-4. The Cougars won the first and third doubles by a total score of 12-2.
Singles:
Camilla Thurman (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic) played a tough match in first singles and lost 7-6 and 7-5.
Catherine Mowry (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian Academy) also played a tough match in second doubles, falling 7-6 and 6-0. Averett took control in the final four singles matches and took home the overall victory.
