FOREST, Va. – Randolph-Macon Men's Basketball has been picked at the top of the ODAC Preseason Poll for the second straight season, following a 24-5 season. The Yellow Jackets won the ODAC regular season crown last season and for the fifth time in as many full seasons.
The Yellow Jackets were selected atop the poll with eleven first place votes and 121 points to lead the pack. Virginia Wesleyan was picked second with 104 points overall and no first place votes.A pair of Sweet 16 teams from a season ago, Roanoke and Hampden-Sydney, follow behind with the Maroons grabbing the final first place vote and 103 points. The Tigers hold 96 points in the fourth spot and Lynchburg rounds out the top five with 81 points.
Shenandoah slots in sixth with 64 points with Guilford and Washington and Lee sitting tied for seventh with 58 points. Averett completes the top ten with a ninth place pick and 34 points. Bridgewater (33), Randolph (26) and Eastern Mennonite (14) complete the preseason poll in the final three spots.
RMC will play Eastern on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania as part of the Gettysburg Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Gettysburg College.
