GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Randolph-Macon men's basketball opened the season with a dominant 97-71 win over Eastern at the Gettysburg Tip-Off Tournament, behind
Delani Hammonds (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) recording his first career double-double.

How it Happened:
- Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) kicks off the game with a three-pointer on the first possession, giving Randolph-Macon a 3-0 lead. The teams traded baskets for the majority of the first five minutes, but the Eagles scored five' straight points to take a 12-9 lead with 15:00 minutes on the clock. Robinson knocked down another three ball coming out of the media timeout to tie up the game at 12-12. The Yellow Jackets were down 14-12 in the first half and conducted a 14-2 run, capped off with a steal and slam by Bryce Scott (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day) and took a 26-16 with 9:26 on the clock.
- Eastern got the Lemon and Black lead down to 26-20 with back-to-back buckets by Olise Onyeka and Connor Fleet. Randolph-Macon buckled down defensively, mounting a 10-2 run with five points coming from Brady Lam (Ruckersville, Va./William Monroe) and took its largest lead of the game at 36-22. The teams scored eight points a piece in the final four minutes of the first half, as Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) buried two three-pointers to lead the team. The Yellow Jackets held a 44-30 lead at the halftime break.
- The Lemon and Black opened the second half on a 12-2 run that lasted until the 15:05 mark. Amr Areikat (Ramallah, Palestine, Langley) and Lam led the way with three points each, growing the lead for Randolph-Macon to 56-32. Dominance continued by the Yellow Jackets, growing the lead to 67-45 with just over nine minutes left in the game. Hammonds and Robinson both contributed four points to the point total for Randolph-Macon. Robinson led Randolph-Macon the rest of the way with 11 points, as the Lemon and Black cruised to a 97-71 opening night win.
Inside the Numbers:
- Randolph-Macon shot 50.0 percent from the floor, as Eastern knocked down 39.2 percent of its shots.
- The Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Eagles 42-to-27 in the entire game.
- Hammonds recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The sophomore also added three assists and blocked a shot.
- Robinson led the team with 21 points with five made three-pointers in the game.
- Lam began his collegiate career with 16 points, four assists, three rebounds and a steal.
- Pulley Jr. ended the game with 12 points and four assists.
- Malcolm Hodges (Richmond, Va./Monacan) pulled down nine rebounds to go with his six points.
