LYNCHBURG, Va. – Valentina Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) recorded 19 saves, the most in any road game played in her career, as the Hornets top the Yellow Jackets, 3-0.

How it Happened
- Lynchburg applied pressure quickly to open the first frame of play, earning seven penalty corners in the first five minutes. Over the span, Ambrogi-Torres saved all three shots on goal. In the sixth minute of play, Ambrogi-Torres stopped another three shots, totaling six saves in six minutes. After back-to-back fouls from the Hornets, RMC held Lynchburg to just one shot for the rest of the quarter, as the game remained scoreless heading into the second quarter.
- The Hornets continued to build on their momentum, firing off four shots in the first three minutes. After Ambrogi-Torres made her ninth save of the night on the third penalty corner of the quarter from LU, RMC's Breea Dresler (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) posted the first shots of the game for the Yellow Jackets, with two consecutive shots on goal. After their offensive burst, the Lemon and Black were able to hold the Hornets to just one shot in the final 10 minutes of the quarter. Grace Oates (Poquoson, Va./Poquoson) made the second defensive save of her career, keeping the game 0-0.
- Ambrogi-Torres was busy to open the third, making three saves in the first three minutes of play. On the fourth shot of the quarter, the Hornets got one past the junior goalkeeper, putting the home team up 1-0. After the goal, the Yellow Jackets were able to hold the Hornets without a shot for another six minutes, until Lynchburg took a 2-0 lead with five minutes remaining in the third quarter. RMC kept its defense tight to close out the third, only allowing one penalty corner.
- The last frame of play opened very even, with only one total shot between the two teams for the first 10 minutes. With five minutes remaining in the game, the Hornets scored their third of the night on just their second shot of the quarter, putting them up 3-0. RMC held LU without a shot for the rest of the quarter, as the programs traded green cards before the end of the game.
