Ian Wagenhauser totaled 16 kills while
Kody Rogan finished with 32 assists as Randolph-Macon Men's Volleyball dominated the final three sets to win the home opener over Marymount, 3-1.

How it Happened:
- The Saints won both of the first two points of the opening stanza, but the Yellow Jackets got on the board with the next three. MU retook the lead and held a 9-5 lead, but once again, RMC stormed back to cut it to one. In similar fashion, Marymount built another sizeable lead, but RMC rallied behind an 8-2 run to take a 19-18 advantage. The Saints allowed the Yellow Jackets to score just three more points the rest of the set as MU took set one, 25-22.
- The second set was deadlocked at five before the Yellow Jackets doubled up the Saints with a 12-6 lead. RMC never wavered in the set, as the closest it got the rest of the way was four points. The Lemon and Black held off Marymount's comeback attempt to dominate the second set, 25-19.
- RMC doubled up the Saints early in the third frame, 8-4. The Saints kept the score close for most of the set, cutting the deficit to two points multiple times. A late 4-1 run by RMC, capped off by a kill by Phillip Van Essendelft (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory), paced the Yellow Jackets to the finish line. RMC closed out the third set winning 25-19 to move within one set of taking the match.
- With their backs against the wall, Marymount took a 5-4 lead to begin the fourth set. RMC gained control of the set with a 5-0 run and then later another stretch of five straight points made the score 15-8 in favor of the Yellow Jackets. The Saints halted the bleeding with a 3-0 run but was answered with four straight from RMC. The Lemon and Black used the momentum to finish the set with a 25-17 win and win the match, 4-1.
Inside the Numbers:
- Ian Wagenhauser (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) led the way with 16 kills and totaled four service aces.
- Kody Rogan (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) finished with 32 assists, 10 digs, and five kills on a .571 hitting percentage.
- Van Essendelft used a .636 hitting percentage to total eight kills. He had four block assists and two service aces as well.
- Wesley Graves (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) and Nick Futrell (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) each had a solo block and two block assists.
- RMC hit .240 and held Marymount to a .098 hitting percentage.
