– Randolph-Macon Men's Volleyball got strong nights from
Ian Wagenhauser and
Phillip Van Essendelft as they fell to Baldwin Wallace in four sets for their first loss of the season.

How it Happened:
- BWU opened the match winning seven of the first nine points. RMC stormed back to seize momentum with a 13-10 lead but was quickly erased by BWU. The Lemon and Black had a 21-20 lead, and the two sides went back-and-forth, making their way to a 25-25 tie. BWU scored the final two points to take set one, 27-25.
- Baldwin Wallace had a fast start for the second straight set, jumping out to an 8-5 lead. After they held a 12-10 advantage, RMC took over from there, earning eight of the next 10 points. RMC led 22-19, but a 3-0 run by BWU knotted the score at 22. BWU grabbed the lead again at 25-24, but Randolph-Macon won four of the final five points of the set that would give them a 28-26 set two win.
- Randolph-Macon used the momentum from the second set to take an early lead in the third set, 6-3. BWU slowly worked their way back and took the lead, but RMC took it back at 19-18. Six straight points ensued for Baldwin Wallace, and they finished the set after RMC broke the run to win 25-20.
- BWU took control of the fourth set immediately, holding a 6-1 lead and then a 7-2 lead before Randolph-Macon found their footing. RMC could only get within four at 13-9, as Baldwin Wallace continued to maintain their lead throughout the set. BWU led 19-13 before earning six of the final seven points to win the set, 25-14 and win the match 3-1.
Inside the Numbers:
- Ian Wagenhauser (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) led RMC with 18 kills and four aces. He also posted six digs and a block assist.
- Phillip Van Essendelft (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) had 10 kills and hit .381 with two block assists.
- Brady Plucker (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) was the lone Yellow Jackets' player with double digit digs, finishing with 10.
- Kody Rogan (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) totaled 38 assists, five kills, and nine digs. He has 70 assists in two matches this season.
- Nick Futrell (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) had six kills with a .417 hitting percentage.
- Eight different players had at least two digs.
