SALISBURY, Md. - Sophomore
Jordan Brown (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI against #5 Salisbury, as the 11th-ranked Randolph-Macon softball team ended its season on the final day of the Salisbury Regional in the 2024 NCAA Championships.

How It Happened
- Randolph-Macon grabbed the lead first in the game, starting with an Amanda Lanyon (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) walk to begin the third inning. Lanyon would steal second and ended up scoring on a two-out Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) single up the middle.Â
- The Sea Gulls struck back in the bottom half of the third inning with an RBI double by Abby Mace to bring home Camille Jones, tying up the game at 1-1.Â
- Natalie Paoli and Carrie Jacoby both started the fourth inning with hits to start a Salisbury scoring threat. Lauren Meyers doubled into left center field to give the Sea Gulls a 3-1 lead, by scoring both Paoli and Jacoby. Meghan Reed knocked in Sam Flowers that pinch run for Meyers to extend the lead 4-1.  Â
- The Yellow Jackets did not quit in the slightest, as Kayla Davis (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) kicked off the sixth inning with a single and Olivia Allen (Dinwiddie, Va./Dinwiddie) was sent in to run to use her speed. She later would cross home on a Brown single into right center field to cut the deficit to 4-2. Â
- Lanyon reached first in the seventh inning for the Lemon and Black to create scoring opportunities. Naomi Sadler (Emporia, Va./Brunswick) belted the ball into left center field to score Lanyon and bring the go-ahead run to the plate with one out. Salisbury would shut down any more chances for the Yellow Jackets to score, retiring the final two batters to take the regional title 4-3. Â
