ASHLAND, Va. – Senior
Annie Bartley (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) scored twice and added an assist as the RMC women's lacrosse team fell 16-5 against seventh-ranked Washington and Lee on Wednesday evening to begin ODAC play.

How It Happened:
- Washington and Lee broke the ice early in the first period, scoring in the first minute by way of Ginny Taylor to put the Generals up 1-0. Hanna Bishop assisted a Sophie Edwards goal with 13:27 to double the Washington and Lee lead. Annie Bartley (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) cut the General lead in half with an unassisted goal with 12:03 remaining in the period. The Yellow Jackets tied the game up at 2-2, as Taylor Mittelstadter (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) found the back of the net on a nice pass by Lilly Fowler (Phoenix, Md./Notre Dame Prep) with just over seven minutes left. The Generals scored the final goal of the period, as Claire Horner scored a free-position goal to take a 3-2 lead after one period.
- Washington Lee scored five unanswered goals in the second period, as the Yellow Jackets couldn't find its footing on the offensive end. Five different Generals scored in Julia Thompson, Taylor, Bishop, Edwards and Alex Petras to give WLU an 8-2 lead at the halftime break.
- The Generals added another goal to start the third period, but Randolph-Macon answered with a Bartley goal to cut the Washington and Lee lead to 9-3. WLU's Bishop scored their tenth goal of the game and the Yellow Jackets kept fighting with a goal by Evie McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) to answer with 10:32 left in the period. The Generals ended the period with four more goals to take a 14-4 lead into the final period.
- The Generals added two more goals in the final period from Emma Marsh and Betty Boatwright to set the score at 16-4. Mittelstadter scored an unassisted goal with under two minutes in the game to end the scoring at 16-5 as Washington and Lee took home the victory.
