ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse defeated Shenandoah 15-1 in Ashland on Saturday to improve to 8-0 on the season, their best start in program history.

How it Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets took control of the game early, taking just 25 seconds to score the first goal of the game, and tallied another at the 13:05 mark of the first. After seven minutes without a goal, RMC scored twice in 13 seconds, the first being a man-up goal by Bubba Bowen (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) and the second being Austin Payne (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) scoring his second of the quarter. RMC would tack on another in the closing seconds of the quarter to make the score 5-0 after 15 minutes.
- The second stanza was no different, as Avery Tankersley (Baltimore, Md./Boys Latin) scored 46 seconds into the quarter. After Logan Sinsebox (Monkton, Md./Hereford) scored twice in a row, Jack Smith (Stevensville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) notched his third and fourth goals of the contest to push the lead to 10-0. Shenandoah got on the board with seven seconds to go before the half as RMC took a 10-1 advantage into the break.
- The scoring slowed down in the third quarter, as Cooper Hauser (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) got in on the scoring before Payne and Sinsebox each added another tally. In the fourth, JT Harvey (Ruther Glen, Va./Riverbend) scored a goal in the opening minute and his teammate, Matt Williams (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal), found the back of the net, making the score 15-1, which it would stay the rest of the game.
Inside the Numbers:
- Jack Smith totaled four goals on four shots. He also picked up two ground balls.
- Austin Payne notched a hat trick, keeping pace with his average of three goals per game, placing him fourth in the ODAC. He also sits second with 24 goals on the year.
- Logan Sinsebox scored a hat trick as well as dishing out an assist.
- Ryan Pritchard (Crofton, Md./DeMatha) scored his 100th career point as part of his three-assist game.
- Will Robertson (Lutherville, Md./Calvert Hall) went 12-17 in the faceoff circle and totaled six ground balls.
- Mike Allen (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) finished with three ground balls and three caused turnovers while dishing out an assist.
- Goalie Jack Twomey (Reston, Va./Gonzaga) was stellar in goal, surrendering just one goal and saved nine shots, picking up the win.
