Lilly Fowler (Phoenix, Md./Notre Dame Prep) tallied three goals as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team dropped a Sunday non-conference matchup with Widener University 9-6.

How It Happened:
- The Pride jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead in the first period, scoring on all five shots on goal. Jamie Dehaven was the catalyst for Widener during the run, scoring twice and assisting two other goals. Fowler put a stop to the Pride run with an unassisted goal at the 5:43 mark of the period. Widener would tack on another goal by Alyssa Ruggiero with two minutes left to jump out to a 6-1 lead, after the first 15 minutes.
- Widener scored the first two goals of the second period, to notch their biggest lead of the contest at 8-1 with 1:20 remaining. The Yellow Jackets had opportunities to score in the period, as the Pride were saved by the posts of the goal numerous times. Evie McNeally (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) beat the Widener net-minder at the halftime buzzer to give Randolph-Macon momentum going into the halftime break, still trailing 8-2.
- The Lemon and Black defense turned up the intensity throughout the second half, causing numerous turnovers and multiple Widener shot clock violations. Fowler notched her second goal of the game on a free-position shot three minutes into the third period. Taylor Mittelstadter (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) answered a Widener goal with just over five minutes remaining to pull Randolph-Macon within five goals, trailing 9-4.
- In the final eleven minutes of the game, the Yellow Jackets outshot Widener 4-1, as two shots hit the crossbar. Randolph-Macon did hold the Pride to zero goals in the final 15 minutes, saw Fowler score her third goal of the contest, as well as McNeally finding the back of the net. Widener would end up eating up the clock in the final possessions of the game to defeat the Yellow Jackets 9-6.
